I purchased one of these last week. Really liked the card and the performance overall however I've sent it back. Unfortunately most of the time my card would not increase the speed of the fans as the temperature increased. Ultimately it would hit 90°C+ go into protection and lockup my computer requiring a reboot. Randomly the fans would function properly and I could even use the Arc control software to setup a curve or the Acer Predator software to set a constant fan speed. It worked fine and never overheated when the fans worked properly. No amount of reinstalling or DDU cleaning fixed the issue. I even manipulated settings in the java files, per online research, in the Arc control with no improvement.

The fan issue is a known problem, perhaps caused by drivers, hardware or both. Either way its not effecting everyone who buys this card. I'd not want to dissuade anyone from trying an A770 as I think the hardware shows lots of potential. The drivers leave much to be desired however. I'll let things mature a bit before giving Intel discrete GPUs a try again. Anyway just be prepared for potential pitfalls if you buy one of these.

Yeah they are working on Driver constantly. They are far from perfect but have made massive bounds and leaps since launching. The fact that Nvidia is so horrible with the 4000 series and AMD has yet to show if they are going to do the same leaves them in a unique place.

Also the Arc cards do awesome in productivity stuff. Be it Adobe, or different video editing or graphics software. Also the encoding of AV1 also gives them a one up at least on last gen cards in the similar price bracket. I have also heard Linux gamers are pretty happy with the Arc cards as well.

Unless you need the 16GB VRAM, or want this for the novel cooler (good for SFFPC's), the Arc A750 at around $200 is the far better deal, its very close in performance except in situations where you exceed the 8GB of VRAM, but for gaming that's rare since these are midrange cards and you really wouldnt be playing 4k ultra on them.

Not sure where you heard they work great with Adobe products. It's fairly well acknowledged that they do not work well with LR or PS AI- based actions - about the only time the GPU is used. Further Intel has already knowledged that these cards are not optimized and plan to use their experience to put out cards with better performance and compatibility in the next gen, if there will be one. It's unfortunate because the cards show promise, but were released half-baked.

Not really true anymore. LOA and Jedi Survivor can pull 10gb+ of vram in 1080p max settings. Few more years and I'm sure more AAA titles will.

Still over priced for what you get.

I would stick to AMD or Nvidia if looking for a gaming card.

Intels cards do have some video encoding advantages. But the lower end, and much cheaper, intel cards will do the same thing as this if that is all you need.

I think they meant to say LOU, The Last of Us. It's the only other game I know of that pulls over 8 GB of VRAM.

The A770 underperforms the 6700 XT which has been on sale at similar prices recently. I would hold out for a 6700 XT deal (shouldn't need to wait more than a week or two) and pick up that instead.

The reviews I've seen (especially with later drivers) seem like they're worth considering. They have better ray tracing performance than amd cards, but struggle with older games because they have poorer raster performance. Feels like a $300 6700xt is still the sweet spot overall but the Intel cards are a decent choice at the right price.
