Some dealers in my area, NE GA, are actually discounting the Ioniq5s $2500-$7500 right now. Not sure if that is a regional discount but the discounts seem to be coming from both the dealer and/or Hyundai. I know my local Hyundai dealer has had 3-5 Ioniq5s sitting in the front of their dealership for 1 - 2 months now that they can't seem to sell.

On a related note, the NHTSA just opened an investigation into the Ioniq5 due to reports that some Ioniqs are losing power while being driven. Not a full recall as of yet but enough complaints, around 30, to warrant a closer look. https://www.caranddriver.com/news...stigation/

Why buyout when you could invest those funds at a rate > 0.9%? Current 13-month CD's pay 4.3%.

Financing? Isn't the real deal when you do a lease, get the $7500 credit then do a lease buyout?

money talking. Somebody feels a decent deal with the higher price rather than lower one.

Because Tesla has known quality control issues (panel gaps don't fit, pre-mature breakdown of common line replaceable units such as seats, windows, etc) and Hyundai although had a Rocky past with their engines, is a Legacy car company and makes quality products nowadays.

Also...maybe people just want physical buttons in their car for, you know, the AC or the radio. And not everything on a center touch screen.

Both of these were debunked like... a few hours ago...in this very thread...

Folks need to find new FUD

Hyundais are not known for quality at this price id rather buy something with known track record
I have an ioniq 5 sel. I traded my model 3 for it. 10x the car that the tesla was. Better build quality, nicer ride, better service when you need it.

I think teslas look like frogs. I was never impressed with the tesla looks. I bought it because of its supposed better tech. Worst purchase of my life. At least my ioniq 5 is unique and different looking. It gets noticed

How did we as consumers let cars get so expensive? .
A new car can literally save your life with modern safety features. Chances of being in a car accident is high. People are willing to spend $$$ to save their life.

Oh that's interesting. And then you can avoid dealing with getting a deduction for the next tax year?
Ioniq 5 is not eligible for deduction. That is why lease buyout with $7500 discount is better. Apparently when you lease Hyundai gets the $7500 tax rebate and they pass it on to you.

I leased the original Cadenza for $289/mo for 3 years. Incredible deal and best car I've owned.
You don't own it, it's leased 😁!

Is there any advantage to getting this over a Model 3?
I've been looking at both actually, I don't qualify for the tax credit so that's a non factor for me.

The biggest factor for me is v2l. I like the idea of being able to power devices and it would keep be from buying something like ( https://slickdeals.net/f/16688777-costco-members-ecoflow-delta-pro-3600wh-ev-recharge-bundle-2-599-99-free-shipping-2599-99 ). If you actually do the math the price per KWH is actually cheaper to buy an entire car for most trims lol.

Warranty is also better on the Hyundai as well for the most part.
