I'd go to William Sonoma to test them before buying. We found the copper core 3qt saute really was too heavy for what we needed
Wish I knew there was a discount code.
All equipment came basically brand new. The only flaws I could see were related to some uneven brushing on the surface...nothing that won't vanish after cooking with it a few times
Make sure to do some research on cooking with stainless. Especially applicable the graphite core. It responds to heat really fast.
edit: something also to mention is there are both packaging damage and second quality goods on sale. packaging damage will be more expensive.
honestly, anything 2nd quality from all clad is a steal for what you get provided you frequently cook. we've worn out (as in degraded surface from cons tant use) two 12" calphalon signature non sticks in the last 5 years and both are generally around $100 each. better to get a stainless and have a non stick egg pan.
My 8 qt is too small sometimes

Better deals from retailers are extremely rare but if a particular set has all the pieces you want, then sometimes one of those pops up. There have been small D3 sets at Macys for under $250 in the past, but you have to want those exact pieces (which tend to be small), or else it's not really a deal.
