Yes, did the same for my wife.
I have a Quicksilver but capital one went even further for me, they blocked my card after I tried using it in Chile. The only way to unblock it was to call them. They asked me to send them pictures of my ID and it took them two weeks to unblock the card which made it useless to me. No way to put a travel notice anymore on it either, it's all done via an automated fraud system that can't be overridden. I hear chase is the same story so I guess you have to bring multiple of these travel cards abroad.
I'm almost certain I got my friend 80k through a referral. I see a similar promo that ended late May though, so must've expired!

I have traveled with various capital one cards all over the world. Never have I had it be declined.
The travel portal uses hopper as a back end so the options sucks mightily and has zero nice features. The hotel selection is often limited compared to a major site like agoda or booking, but what they do have is usually competitively priced.
Their point transfer to FF accounts is to a couple of hotels (choice/wyndham, def not a good option at 1:1 redemption) and to foreign carriers. I don't think there's a domestic major on the transfer list...I just screen shotted the options and attached.
Gift cards / amazin link is about 0.8c/point and cashing out is 0.5c/point, so travel reimbursement or using points to get to the next airline award is the best use.

Just like with UR, your best redemption is a transfer to something like aeroplan, I usually get about 3-5 cents value per point this way. Cash is always the worst option, gift cards second worse.
