I've heard of people buying nugget ice from Sonic restaurants. My old work had a nugget icemaker and it ruined me. Nugget ice is so much better. When I left there I bought a GE Opal 2.0 icemaker for my home. Its very nice and I use it every day.

We have that one too. It's kinda silly, but when it breaks, we'll buy another one in a heartbeat.

The only thing I don't like about it is how fast it tells me that I need to descale it, after cleaning it. I guess maybe I have the previous gen one. There are guidelines for cleaning but the machine doesn't actually tell you when to clean it. I had one previously that I used tap water in that died in just over a year. My current one I run with water that's been through a Brita elite filter, and I've cleaned it once in two years, and it's still going great.
