Remember that with some minor plastic slot/ridge modifications, Greenworks 60v batteries can be interchanged with 60v Kobalt, Snapper, and Powerworks batteries/tools.

See the slots in the side of the battery? They vary depending on the brand, but everything else is the same. You either need to cut new slots in the battery cases or remove the ridges in the tools and/or chargers to swap batteries. I'm sure someone has youtubed it by now, but sorry, I just did it on my own and have no links.

Just hold your battery up to the compartment on the tool and you should readily see where to put grooves in the battery case or remove the interfering ridge in the battery compartment. Note that you'll be voiding the warranty in the part you're taking the dremel to.

I chose to cut out the interfering ridges in the battery compartments rather than modifying the batteries.

Thx. Agree that tool should be modified and not battery. Much thicker material on the battery.

How exactly do they "renew" these batteries? Just repackage defective returns?

I haven't done this but just throwing in my $0.02. Probably best to cut whichever device cost you less or is least likely to require warranty service.

On one video I saw a guy take 4 screws out of a battery and swap the battery case with another brand,
and the modified battery worked fine.
No cutting involved.

CAN'T make these new again nor improve used batteries. What the heck does renew mean?

Only 90 day warranty on the refurbs vs 4 year new. Not sure its worth taking a chance on a refurb.
