This is their cheaper option, not the one that came on Kickstarter. This printer is amazing, haven't turned my prusa on in months because this is just so much faster. Just ordered my second one so feel free to ask any questions.

I'm confused by this, as Bambu has undercut the competition on pricing (Prusa), and delivered a more advanced machine as well. How is that like Dyson?

Also, didn't Dyson basically invent the high powered stick vacuum market and pretty consistently win performance tests against both traditional vaccums as well as other cheaper models?

Can the p1p print carbon fiber
Yes, but you will need upgrade to a hardened steel nozzle ($15), and hardened extruder gears ($20). If not, the CF will quickly wear out the stock parts.

He's asking if it can print PACF or PetgCF, you could've answered yes with an upgraded steel nozzle and an enclosure maybe needed.
That wasn't specified, and my point stands: that's not really a good benchmark as to whether a certain printer is a good fit for them.

These new "speed wars" are so much like the megapixel wars of the yesteryear, but it was just a marketing trap all along.
When a P1P, printing slow, is twice the speed of a Prusa MK3S, it is not just marketing hype. Sure you can push the P1P to print stupid fast, and it can compromise strength. But you don't have it go that fast all the time. But it sure is nice to have that ability when you are rapid prototyping.

The random hate comments on this printer are hilarious, the one thing they have in common is none of the people have any valid or objective criticism about what is actually wrong with the printer.

Dang, was hoping for a deal on the X1C. Holding out hope they decide to add the X1C to the anniversary discount.

I almost always go for the cheap model, but decided I would go all in this time around.

If the AMS is on sale, I'll pick one up. The P1P i have is awesome already. I can't wait for them to make an XL version, I'm in day 1.
I think if you look at their blog post about the 1 year anniversary you'll get $50 off an AMS for having ordered any printer in the past.

Volume is the issue, not cooling.
Shocking how many of you can operate a 3d printer but can't comprehend a simple sentence.
There's literally nothing there about insufficient cooling...

In my experience super-fast printing is a big lie, just like the high megapixel count.
So you didn't buy your bambu lab for speed?

Those businesses better be really careful about their data security. The sending of encrypted logs without the user knowing what's in it can land them in some bad waters. especially ITAR and CMMC. But even still, it may violate nda's that they are signing. This is a massive issue that Bambu refuses to acknowledge.
While I agree there are issues that can't be ignored with this, I will also say that some of the biggest offenders of data breaches and security offenders are companies that have in theory shared their practices and been deemed by someone a company to be worked with. Every day there is another data breach and another security warning to be concerned about.

That said, I do hope they will follow laws and rules that will protect consumers better than they may be currently.

Not only that, I would bet a shiny nickel that not a single one of them actually own one. These same people probably deplore Amazon and other companies who allow reviews of items and services by users who don't own or haven't used the product.

i had an ender first and my bambu smokes it. Im not as intense and do not know every detail of 3d printing but bambu is super easy to start. Pretty much paying to save time. When the ender messes up later in the layers, the bambu would have been done or already told you there was an error. When you do more complicated prints, the ender takes 12hrs and the bambu takes 6 pretty much. It is a highly recommend from me.

Man, I've been eyeing this... I've wanted a X1C, but I find it harder and harder to justify the price over the P1P. I really wanted an enclosure, but I am beginning to think I am worrying over nothing, if the printable enclosures are solid enough.

Curious if anyone with a P1P can comment on enclosures.

I ordered p1p last month and it was DOA and I am still waiting for them to send me the replacement. they took 2 weeks to send me return label. it was't a pleasant customer service experience. I guess it is a great printer when you have a working one. I wonder if they could honor me with this sale.

Some of my thoughts as a first-gen X1C Kickstarter:
1. The print speed is objectively much better for a "good" quality print than what most consumer printers on the market can claim for an out-of-the-box print. You can do better with mods and fine-tuning or switching to a more niche kit like the Vorons, but the Bambu out-of-box does it well automatically with most filaments. That said, I think the default print speeds are too high and the highest speed settings are overhyped. If you aim for 150 - 200 m/s as your target, you'll be very pleased with the results most of the time.

2. The software has gotten regular updates on all fronts (slicer and machine firmware) to the point where the core cloud-print workflow is now very reliable. Their dev team is responsive to feature requests, and the fact that the basis is PrusaSlicer means it's pretty much always keeping up with the latest features demanded by the community.

3. Although they do spend a lot on the marketing effort, I genuinely think the maker community loves this printer because I see it being adopted by users who are influential but are not in the business of reviewing or selling 3D printers (Optimum Tech, for example).

4. The availability of parts and mods from first-party and third-party sources has expanded dramatically over the last six months. Now you can buy almost all of the major components you need to rebuild the printer from Bambu directly, and you can buy cheap 3rd party build plates and nozzles from Aliexpress to make the printer more capable.

5. The biggest downside will always be that the machine hardware and firmware will be closed-source. I don't think this will ever change, so if it's a dealbreaker for you, don't bother and look to Prusa catching up in a few years or DIY a Voron today.
