I don't know if it has improved at all, but the CCD design swayed me to the 7800X3D. The 7900X3D and 7950X3D have 2 different CCDs which requires some extra work/management to make sure the right CCD is being used for gaming. I think the implementations are all software based right now?
not even about $. 7800x3d simply gives more fps in basically all games. 7800x3d is the best performing cpu for gaming rn. yes, more fps than 13900k and 7950x3d. Better than intel because of the huge cache size, better than "higher end" ryzen because of chip design.
it's been month and it seems like majority of people still haven't caught on to why 5800x3d and 780x3d are so freaking impressive.

I was building around 7800x3d for the price, good to know that it also is the best for gaming rn.

It's got 8cores with the v-cache instead of 6. The 7900x3d has 12 cores but only 6 have those super impressive v-cache. This has a place for more versatility but certainly not in my house. I stream for fun and it doesn't seem to hurt my performance much if any w/ my 8 cores so for me the 7800x3d is king.
Both the 7900/7950x3d do not have the 3D cache across the entire processor, only about half the cores do. So, the games and such that benefit from the cache are not always able to access it. By comparison the 7800X3D has it across it's entire processor. In gaming benchmarks you see the difference.

brother has the 7950X3D it works fine / just need the bios update (maybe a fresh install of windows... due to weird issues when it came out at launch)
