I went to get in on this deal, signed in, and found that I had already bought an annual subscription from an SD post back in January and forgot all about it.... lol DANG IT. Interesting that my account also says that it will renew 1/11/2024 for $14.99 as well... so I can subscribe for TWO years for a great to deal and not use it at all .

Rocksmith+ is more about teaching you songs. Fender Play (and justin guitar) are more about how to actually play the guitar.
If you just want to pick up songs to play, rocksmith is ok.. but it's not as good at teaching technique.
Fender play and justin guitar will teach you in a way that you can play any song you want once you get the tab. Or more advanced justin guitar methods you'll be able to transpose on your own and play along.

It's not terrible. But it doesn't feel terribly cohesive from one lesson to the next. I recommend justinguitar.com. It's free too.

Have the instructors improved any?

I got 3months free from a previous SD a couple years back and all the instructors seemed like college kids forced to record lessons for an assignment.

Or any recommendations for instructors to follow for an intermediate rhythm guitar and bass player?

The code worked for me. I registered as a new user, then added an annual subscription. On the checkout screen was a small link that said, "Have a promo code?" Clicked that, entered the code, clicked apply, and it took $134.99 off. Thanks, OP!

Got it to work as of 3:05PM Pacific. Need to click on the "play" section at the top left of site, go to the annual subscription, apply promo code, and discount is applies resulting in $15.

It works for me. First of all, you need to select Play in the top left corner. Then, You cannot use it with the free guitar subscription. You must choose the middle one. You will see the apply coupon option. Enjoy!

Update: I'm not sure if it does stack with an existing subscription. No receipt from Fender or PayPal, but there is a follow-up transaction scheduled at the end my existing subscription.
