Is it just me, or does this monitor make no sense?

If you're after productivity - which anything 60hz clearly is geared towards- why in the world would you want a VA panel?

I was expecting IPS and was surprised to read VA with these specs and use-case. Almost had me tempted.

EDIT: Also seeing horribly bad reviews about quality control and quality in general. Seems like Samsung has become known for that at this point.
VA has better native contrast than IPS. Between IPS and VA there isn't much difference nowadays but some prefer the contrast of VA over IPS; given two similar panels at the same price point, I actually personally chose VA over IPS because I like my blacks to be black instead of grey (didn't want an OLED/ did not want to shell out $$$ for mini-LED)

This monitor has productivity in focus with a 60hz refresh rate, however, could be used for gaming.

No way you are having fun on a 60hz monitor. It's just too slow for gaming.
I've been using two IPS HP 27xw monitors for nearly 10 years and havent had an issue with gaming or productivity. I'd only consider an upgrade when one of them calls home or my income becomes outrageous enough to splurge on a 49' deal.

I have 5 of these and like them for my 6 screen setup! Not gaming focused but for the games I play it is fine.
