Metro By T-Mobile $24/mo. Unlimited with 15Gb Hotspot for existing customers.
This is an under-the-table, unadvertised offer (most likely to keep subscribers from jumping ship).
MUST call the Customer Service # 1-888-8METRO8, 1-888-863-8768, speak to a CS rep and politely request to be switched to the
Metro VIP $24/mo. with the 15Gb hotspot.
It is just a simple request, do not have to indicate that you want to leave Metro.
If the rep seems not to know about this plan and/or is being uncooperative, just hang up and call again.
It's worth trying even though YMMV.
Be extremely polite to the CS.
It'll probably take around 10-15 mins to do this.
Keep in mind that with Metro any changes to a plan take effect at the beginning of the new billing cycle.
It may help if one is a current Metro customer who did the BYOD port-in and purchased a Metro phone, and be a customer for at least a month or two.
After you get it and it's reflected in your Metro account it should show:
$24 MetroVIP $24 UNL LTE w/Hotspot
It may show 10Gb or 15Gb Hotspot, depending on what the Metro rep did. If it sows 10Gb you may want to call CS and have it corrected to 15Gb.

If one is a new customer read the above article about the Metro BYOD port-in $25/mo. plan available in-store only, and this:

If one currently qualifies for the federal ACP program (Affordable Connectivity Program), this makes a free cell plan with a pretty good hotspot.

It's very simple to do, all it takes is a call and being nice.
Besides this $24 plan:
Metro has the $25/mo./line unlimited IF you have 4 lines, mentioned above.
BUT, it also has a $25/mo./line unlimited IF you do a BYOD with port-in for one line at a store, no need for 4 lines.
See the links in the OP.
Also, being nice and very polite never hurt anyone!
What's the old saying about flies and honey vs vinegar?
As mentioned in the OP Metro is doing this to keep subscribers from jumping ship.

The cellular phone market in the US is saturated and the only way a provider can increase subscribers is to "steal" them from other providers.

Normally $1 is a $1 and I'd want it. However I'm happy with $25, my plan was changed immediately so I was refunded partial amount and next month I only have to pay like $14 instead of $25.
Now if you plan on using hotspot, most definitely attempt to get this plan. I don't have any outside devices that I bring anywhere so hotspot is useless for me.
How is this plan better than the Visible $25 plan with unlimited data and unlimited hotspot? Thanks.

normally id agree with you.
however, the 24 plan is $1 cheaper and adds a valuable feature.
simply because dont need the HS now, may not mean u will not need in future.
and untimely may be a good thing to have in a pinch.
id invest in the time & potential headache to get the 24 plan

re V, i have used Metro for when i get a new phone that includes 1 month of service.
during that time, it is quite good in my area.
comparable to native TM
V was good initially, but lots of folks have had issues simply because the amount of folks on the V plan now
all depends on your area
