Again, yes it depends on what you're buying so of course shop around and choose to purchase from whoever you trust most.

Yes but ulta allows returns if you hate the product further down the line. Amazon only allows returns for a short time.

Redkin All-Soft is good cheaper one (both the shampoo + conditioner). Doesn't smell as nice like the Paul Mitchell (for a guy), but it doesn't smell too feminine either, but works better for my longer hair and getting out tangles.

I'll add I just got the fancy Pureology Hydrate from Ulta which never goes on sale as much as I would like, but decided to splurge a bit and try it out. They use it at the fancier hair places I've been to and it feels nice on your scalp. It also has the mint smell like Paul Mitchell (in the conditioner more than the shampoo I would say), but doesn't feel like it dries out my long (men's) hair like P.M. does.
