Wonder if this would stop a 11 lb cat from going through the bars. There's always zip tying some cardboard on as an addition. My cat usually doesn't jump over things unless she's scared and running away. I need someway to stop her from going into my bathroom, since I saw her sleep next to my toilet once.

LOL, not a bad idea but buying the gate to stop a child and buying a wall protectors to protect the wall from being destroyed by the gate.
Just got this.
Great quality for the price.
My only gripe is to open the gate, you have to pull the handle back and lift it up but the lifting mechanism sit opposite of the handle so one handed opening is not so easy.
Easy solution. We didn't close the gap so no need to pull the handle back. We just lift the gate up next to the lifting mechanism and it works great.
