FYI these deals are usually for non-discounted plans: Magenta, Max, Go5g, Go5g+ (one and simple choice might qualify). Spring customers, military, 55+, metro pcs may not qualify. Either way it's best to confirm if you qualify before adding the line, otherwise it's YMMV if you add it on your own without checking.

Sometimes these deals require going in store and limited time (24-72hrs usually). It's completely free (taxes & fees not included). If you have a tax inclusive plan like magenta, then everything is free (you might still have tax/fees of 10 cents or so... pointing it out since it triggers some people). Free as long as you don't close it. If you removed any lines in past 90 days they must be added before you can add another lime that would be free. If you cancel any lines within 12 months from adding the free line you lose the discount.

You CAN port a number in while adding the free line or later down the road. If you port the number OUT later, you might lose the free line. You can remove lines after 12 months and it won't affect the free line. Generally, you can't get the free line & a free phone promotion, extremely YMMV since it works for a few people, but I wouldn't count on it.

Know the terms and conditions before making a mistake and ranting.

Edit* Terms & Conditions? 'Customers must have the "2023BYOD_P1" segment on their account in Atlas or Tapestry to qualify. Customers with no segment or "2023BYOD_P1 - Inactive" are not eligible. BYOD or FRP purchases only (EIP not eligible for life of line). Device Connection Charge is required.'

These never work with 2 lines for $70 55+ plan. You need to convert to a much more expensive plan to get the "free" one.

As a Tmobile "ONE Plan All in Promo" I've got 2 lines, for which I pay $80. I can never get them to give me a free line add on unless I change my plan to something that's going to cost me more.

Thanks for reaching out about this new free line offer we have going. This limited time offer is a targeted promotion which you must be preselected for. I did some research and it doesn't look like your account is eligible for this offer but the good news is that you may qualify for other amazing deals we have. You can check those out here - https://t-mobile.com/offers/promotionaloffers… We love thanking our customers, so this won't be the last offer! Keep your eyes peeled for other gifts coming out!

Also make sure to note the Auto Pay policy right now of Debit or Bank account only. Reddit created a Mega thread as so many people were posting about it.
They said they would contact those accounts 30 days before it gets enforced on that account. So far I have not received notification and my bill is still the same with the discount.

I had 6 lines at one time paying $96 a month on the magenta plan as a result of the BYOD deals. At the time it was great. However, I finally cancelled my lines due to the terrible service. It was heartbreaking because the deal was amazing. I had an emergency situation once where there was no T-Mobile reception at the airport and everyone around me with Verizon and AT&T was fine. That was my breaking point. Now I am begrudgingly back to Verizon.
And I have had a situation where my T-Mobile service worked while Verizon service on someone else's phone next to me didn't. If it is a place you regularly go to and need service (ie work or home) then sure, but one airport wouldn't do it for me.

Looks like it works for my $35 tax-inclusive kickstart plan (which already has 1 additional free line on it).

I have the 2 lines for 100 and they said I'm eligible. 9 years with tmo. He spent some time and saw my existing free 3rd line and the system has some tape around it saying I can only have 3 lines max. They offered me to lose my 20/mo kickback (so 95 instead of 80/mo) and I said no thanks. He then said he would escalate this to try and get me the 4th line (2nd free line) and I'll hear back in the next 3-5 days.

I tried (Magenta Max), but with already a free line and T-Force said I wasn't eligible... seems to another one of those mystery free lines where nobody knows who will qualify.

Is it possible to port a Vonage phone number to a T-Mobile line? I have a legacy line from a home POTS service from a while back. I don't want to lose the phone number but have gotten tired for paying Vonage for something I barely use.

Is your new free line showing up online already? I got the free line but they are mailing me a sim card and the new line isn't showing up (yet).

A 12th line would officially mark retirement from chasing these freebies since that's the max for a residential account 😆

Will try tonight and report back. TMO One with plan code TIULFM9, nine lines currently with three free.

UPDATE: did chat through the app this morning...not eligible...sadness. similar deal with the last free line from a few months back. I will try calling them later in the afternoon and try that way. I've done this dance for over six years, and I know that the peeps in Charleston SC are hit or miss (you'll know right away if the rep can help you), while overseas will promise the world...and rarely give it (unless all you want are occasional courtesy credits for their screwups).

the last free line I got was during mother's day 2021.
