FYI these deals are usually for non-discounted plans: Magenta, Max, Go5g, Go5g+ (one and simple choice might qualify). Spring customers, military, 55+, metro pcs may not qualify. Either way it's best to confirm if you qualify before adding the line, otherwise it's YMMV if you add it on your own without checking.

Sometimes these deals require going in store and limited time (24-72hrs usually). It's completely free (taxes & fees not included). If you have a tax inclusive plan like magenta, then everything is free (you might still have tax/fees of 10 cents or so... pointing it out since it triggers some people). Free as long as you don't close it. If you removed any lines in past 90 days they must be added before you can add another lime that would be free. If you cancel any lines within 12 months from adding the free line you lose the discount.

You CAN port a number in while adding the free line or later down the road. If you port the number OUT later, you might lose the free line. You can remove lines after 12 months and it won't affect the free line. Generally, you can't get the free line & a free phone promotion, extremely YMMV since it works for a few people, but I wouldn't count on it.

Know the terms and conditions before making a mistake and ranting.

Edit* Terms & Conditions? 'Customers must have the "2023BYOD_P1" segment on their account in Atlas or Tapestry to qualify. Customers with no segment or "2023BYOD_P1 - Inactive" are not eligible. BYOD or FRP purchases only (EIP not eligible for life of line). Device Connection Charge is required.'

These never work with 2 lines for $70 55+ plan. You need to convert to a much more expensive plan to get the "free" one.

As a Tmobile "ONE Plan All in Promo" I've got 2 lines, for which I pay $80. I can never get them to give me a free line add on unless I change my plan to something that's going to cost me more.

I am hesitant to ask about eligibility for my service.

I had a lot of difficulty with the last added free line, too complicated to relate what happened here. The gist is that i lost all my free lines in adding the new free one. The problem was corrected with the help of great T Mobile service people.

I have ended up with 9 lines for $90, T Mobile ONE plan. I don't know how I ended up with this deal, but I am likely at the maximum number of free lines on my particular plan.

I may ask, but will not tempt fate..
Had the same problem, never got one of my free lines back

Question - my mom is on a Magenta 55+ plan, and I want to cancel that out and put her on this one (and have her keep her number). Would I need to port that out to some other service, then port that back in? Or could I just port that over to this one?

Looks like it works for my $35 tax-inclusive kickstart plan (which already has 1 additional free line on it).
I have KS and UoU(free). I was told I'd have to convert all my lines to one plan first before getting the free AAL. That doesn't make sense since I'd lose UoU.

You didn't run into this problem?

A few months ago I got scammed by a T-Force "expert" that told me I was eligible for a free line on my 55+ plan. She insisted I was eligible. Hooked it up, and (of course) Tmobile charged me for it. The real fun part: even though they acknowledge they had the text of her promising I'm eligible for it- somehow TMobile decided it would be nice to BLAME ME for trusting what their "expert" declared to me. Ugh.

I swear I'm such a cheapskate that I stick with them and their abuse and lies, and monthly "hacking" of our personal data. If ATT or Verizon ever came close to an understandable plan that was even remotely competitive I'd move my 5 lines (and many people I've referred) over in a heartbeat. Every time I talk with a Tmobile employee I have to figure out what parts they are telling me are true and what parts are a complete fraud, it's tedious.

Sadly I think you are right., although there was a very brief period that a free line was offered on One plan all in promo. 3 lines for $80 would have been the holy grail I think. Especially with kickback.

I qualified for the last free line deal but I'm on the One Plan and they said I already have the max 8 lines, two which are free. I could get the deal if I changed plans but that would cost me an extra $100 a month.

This line is not eligible for free phones for the life of the line, not worth it.
Previous BYOD was limited to 12 months, correct?

Yes and no. You can do a COR for your mom's number. Port your mom's number over to your account. But, that port line will not be a free line. The best thing to do is get the free line first and then give that free line to your mom to use. The only bad thing is that she will lose her current number when she cancels her own account.

On the other hand, I am not 100% sure if you can port your mom's line out to like a different carrier for like a month and then port it back to T-Mo under your account. Replace the free line number with your mom's port-in number. Best to ask T-Force (via Twitter or Facebook Messenger).

Is your new free line showing up online already? I got the free line but they are mailing me a sim card and the new line isn't showing up (yet).
Same here, mailing me a SIM but line doesn't show up on my website login dashboard yet.

Based on my previous experience, first responder/military plans do not qualify for any free lines promo, I doubt I am qualified for this round.
