These Arctix pants really aren't that bad -- used to buy a pair for the kids every year and they would typically last all year skiing, sledding, etc. Warm and relatively water resistant. They do snag easily (softer exterior shell) but take a patch pretty well.
Eventually fell out of favor when the kids got older and noticed that their pants didn't have the dinosaur skeleton -- i.e., weren't Arc'teryx brand ...
Despite the list price, they frequently can be had for $20-30, and they're totally worth that. Steal at this price.
I have a couple pairs over the years...I think they are great and never had any problems...You just need to check every now and again, they're always around $20!
