The Canon EOS R6 is a professional-grade mirrorless camera, while the Pixel 7 Pro is a smartphone. As such, the EOS R6 is significantly more expensive than the Pixel 7 Pro. However, the EOS R6 also offers a number of advantages over the Pixel 7 Pro, including:

A larger sensor, which allows for better image quality in low light
More lenses available, which gives you more creative control
The ability to shoot RAW photos, which gives you more flexibility in post-processing

If you're a serious photographer who wants the best possible camera, then the Canon EOS R6 is a great option. However, if you're not a professional photographer and you're just looking for a great camera for regular use, then the Pixel 7 Pro is still a great option.

Here is a table comparing the two cameras:
Feature Canon EOS R6 Pixel 7 Pro
Price $1,599 $899
Sensor 20.1MP full-frame 50MP 1/1.33" sensor
Lenses Canon RF mount Google Pixel-exclusive lenses
Image quality Excellent in all conditions Excellent in good light, good in low light
Video recording 4K 60fps 4K 60fps
Features Dual Pixel AF, IBIS, weather sealing Computational photography, magic eraser, astrophotography
Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to buy the Canon EOS R6 depends on your individual needs and budget. If you're looking for the best possible camera for regular use, then the Pixel 7 Pro is a great option. However, if you're a serious photographer who wants the best possible image quality, then the Canon EOS R6 is the way to go.

Here are some additional factors to consider when making your decision:

Your budget: The Canon EOS R6 is significantly more expensive than the Pixel 7 Pro. If you're on a tight budget, then the Pixel 7 Pro is the better option.
Your photography needs: If you're a serious photographer who needs the best possible image quality, then the Canon EOS R6 is the better option. However, if you're not a professional photographer and you just need a great camera for regular use, then the Pixel 7 Pro is still a great option.
Your lifestyle: If you're someone who travels a lot or takes photos in challenging conditions, then the Canon EOS R6 is the better option because it's weather-sealed and has a larger sensor. However, if you're someone who mostly takes photos in good light, then the Pixel 7 Pro is still a great option.

I hope this helps!

4 megapixels will make no visible difference unless you're shooting for billboards. 99% of the time you won't even be able to tell the difference between this 20MP, and the A7iv, which is 33MP. Overheating seems to be a rare occurrence and if it happened, Canon would replace the camera.

This body for $1300-1600 with free accessories is still a much better value than the R6II which is $2300-2500 with pretty small improvements. Definitely not a "way better" camera in any sense. Most reviewers have said it's not worth the upgrade, let alone for an extra $1000.

Just realized that, however I don't need the grip as it makes the camera absolutely massive and quite heavy. Not shooting extended videos in a studio and with 3 spare batteries, life won't ever be an issue for me.

Ended up buying this camera from Adorama for the same price with the Canon Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R included, since I'll definitely be using that, and still a $150-200 value. Nice to have the option between those two accessories.

Overheating, 20mp, slight crop in 4k 60fps worse colors from a Canon camera. No thanks. I got my R6II which is way better for $2200 from 6urlhasbeenblocked.

Is this worth upgrading from a micro 4/3 setup? I'm still skinflinting with a EM-10 mk3 and a Pen E-PL8

I would say so... I'm upgrading from a 10-year old Canon 70D which is an APS-C sensor. That crops even less than your 4:3 sensor. It will be a massive upgrade for me, and an even bigger upgrade for you IMO. The EM-10 or E-PL8 were pretty low-end even when they came out IIRC. This is going to be full frame and pretty high-end.

Pixel is going to take better pic than r6 if combine with $20 LED light.

the r6 is best 3x-10x zoom shooting sports and birds. especially fast action
C'mon, do you really think people would be spending $1K+ for a camera if the cellphone they already had took better pics?

I have a Pixel phone - and it takes great pics for a phone, in a tiny package - but it's significantly worse in most situations than even the original Canon 5D (12 MP) that I owned 15+ years ago. If all you do is look at pics on your phone, it can be harder to tell, but the difference is definitely obvious when viewed full size.

Q1. Is 20-megapixel an important limitation?
Q2. For birding and outdoor scene photography, what will be a reasonably priced lens?
Q3. If I am not in a rush, will I be able to get a better deal in the next 2-4 months? If so, where from?

Thank you.
