I think this weighs 6 lbs which for me changes the math quite heavily from 4.4

Anyone who has owned these, do the "spicy pillows" situations still happen? I heard they were common but I'm unsure if that's still a thing or a myth

I was a minute away from purchasing to replace my XPS 17. I had to stop because of the 6.06lb weight. My XPS weighs 5.6lb and it's already incredibly heavy. 6.06 lb is just too much.

Does it have the same build quality? Does it have magnetic charging?

$200 less than I paid for my legion 16" that has very similar specs... but at the same time, man that is heavy. My legion is so light I am pretty amazed... not that it would matter to me though, it stays on a desk. If i didn't buy my legion already, i would have bought this for the larger screen (although it's not a big deal... it's the same height, just about 1" wider... )

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank Dr.W

To the people criticizing/commenting on the weight, this does live up to its name as it's still, more or less, the lightest (at 6.06 lbs.) among all its 17" rivals:

1. Acer Nitro 17: 6.61 lbs.
2. Dell Alienware m17 R5: 7.3 lbs.
3. Dell Alienware x17 R2: 6.65 lbs.
4. ASUS ROG Strix G17: 6.17 lbs.
5. ASUS ROG Strix G17 (2021): 5.95 lbs.
6. MSI Vector GP76: 6.39 lbs.
7. MSI Titan GT77: 6.82 lbs.
8. Gigabyte Aorus 7 9KF: 5.95

It's a 17" laptop, how less do you expect it to weigh?

Currently have a MSI ge66 raider (2020) with 2080, i7-10750, and 32gb ddr4. Do I need this? I want it, but in terms of upgrade, do I need it? Rep points to those helpful 🙂

Except for the GPU, this would be an upgrade in everything else. The 2080 easily outperforms the 3060.

So, it depends if you value GPU the most or want a little bit of everything.
