Great price. I paid $110 at Amazon for the 2Tb during the price mistake earlier in the year so this tracks.

Only negative… Newegg returns suck if you have an issue. Seriously, I avoid them no matter the deal.

It will not. You need a different type of drive for deck.

Hmm what is this issue someone posted in a review, I haven't heard of this but doesn't sound good. Hopefully they already fixed but just an FYI:

Cons: Stornvme error that WD is aware of, their support told me to run a S.M.A.R.T test then closed the ticket, I already ran a test and it of course passed. There are quite a few reports of this online from other users with the same issue and it's to do with this X-variant specifically, smells like a firmware problem. There's no other items in event viewer BUT this and it does cause restarts at times.

Been thinking about what will be during the Amazon Prime Sale. No doubt they'll have some 1TB NVMe drives on sale, likely lower than this. But I doubt they'll have this WD below this price. Might be time to jump off the fence.

If I could get 2tb for $110-$120, I'd be super happy.

Nope you need a size 2230 for steam deck. Deals for them are far and fewer as fewer models are made in that compact size.

oh-gee, it's sooner than I predicted. The wait is over; I just placed my order. a few weeks ago, I said in 3-6 months, 2tb would drop to $99. it's close enough 1tb for $55

Surprised Newegg is still in business. Almost no one is buying PC parts now, except for maybe the cheap, heavily discounted items like this.

I want to know this too. Any opinion? I do feel a little effy about the Samsung's firmware debacle even though they resolved it already.
