These are the poor man's Kayano's - and I actually prefer them. Great stability shoe if that's what you're looking for. I've been running with them for years and always pick up a pair for the next season when they go on sale.

The new Kayano are not what they use to be. I have 3 pairs and they are just slightly than the GT. Not worth buying Kayano with these prices.

Obviously YMMV - go get fitted for the proper shoe at a good local running store and pay their price for the service - once you settle in on a brand/model, then you can watch for closeouts on the same brand/model on the web when it's time to replace them. I alternate between B&M store purchases and web closeouts to support my great local running store - asking strangers on the internet for anecdotal shoe buying advice is not a good plan if you're planning to use these for workout walking/running.
