Yes it does. You can use the default exFat or erase to use a Mac specific format. I just purchased a "refurbished" unit in another SD for $53 and reformatted it to APFS (encrypted) on my MacBook Pro M2. Works like a charm. Does this let u play games from it for PS4/Xbox/PS5?
PS4 yes. PS5 only to play PS4 games. Xbox series only to play non series gen games.
You don't need a SSD for the above, can use a much cheaper external drive around $30.
