yeah they jack up the price and make it look like a deal to make people impulse buy. I've bought this same set from Costco many times for around $25 when it would go on sale. Too bad with inflation we don't see prices like that anymore.

This kit hovers around this price consistently. Last drop to $25 was in 2018, so you may not see it lower (at least on Amazon - sounds like Costco and other retailers do drop the price on occasion).

Edit: you're paying $1 more than the 10AA / 4AAA + charger kit that occasionally drops to $35. So, giving up 2AA and 2AAA, gaining a case + C/D adapters. I suppose that's not a great tradeoff. I got the 10/4 pack + charger and wish I had a form fitting case to contain everything.
