Awesome doorbell. I have two of these paired with their NVR. Most functional use is to immediately see who rang my doorbell. My phone received the notification about two seconds after my doorbell rings.

It also works well as a security camera with its hi def image. It's quite easy to isolate and view recorded video triggered by people, cars, or pets.

Plus, no subscription fees. So a no brainer for folks who have PoE and no need for active paid security monitoring.

FYI, I also have the Reolink Duo spotlights in the front and back of the house as well as E1 Pros coming in soon. That's how much I like their ecosystem.

Fantastic doorbell, especially when paired with Scrypted.

Just a reminder, this is a wired doorbell cam, with no wireless available.
Nope, not with a POE injector, connected to a wall Wi-Fi extender, SSID turned off, turn off DHCP on it. You can use the extra cable from the POE injector to door bell, to position the extender in a better place for a signal. I run security cams this way. Keeps from having to run cable in the house to outside.

Which kit did you buy? I want turrets and not bullets and the largest sensor they have for night time recording without bright white LEDs

Does this need to be connected to transformer?

I didn't like it and returned mine. The chime transmits wirelessly to a receiver you put in the house. It won't work with an existing chime. I have glass panels on the sides of my doors. I could see the receiver through the glass just 5 feet away inside the house. All too often the chime wouldn't ring. The integration with the Reolink NVR and picture quality was a plus. Bought mine directly from Reolink and they gave me a hard time about returning it but ultimately took it back. My current video doorbell works with the existing time and due to reolinks stance of 3rd parties they won't allow it to intergrade into the NVR.
What video doorbell did you end up going with?

You can, also with DC voltage from the included adapter, but its really meant for Power over Ethernet (PoE).

btw, if anyone wants to connect using Ethernet but not power it with PoE, get the Wifi version as it connect via both Wifi or Ethernet - just not powered via poe ethernet.

Sounds like a lemon or needed to be re-paired (or interference?) I have my chime on the second floor and about 30' in and tested it as far as our bedroom which is even further so later when Reolink sells extra chimes we can add another and it works. The 5' distance is therefore not typical performance others should take as normal...this is abnormal.

Btw is motion detection connected with door bell button or can I just use existing bell but the camera still detect motion without pushing button?
Yes, you can have it capture motion and person detection, in addition to when someone actually rings the doorbell that Reolink calls "Visitor"

Yea, If not using Poe reuse existing doorbell power wire. Also if you find your doorbell doesn't power up properly using the existing doorbell wiring, test using the transformer included in the box. I found that my existing wiring didn't give enough power to the doorbell and I had a double up conductors to get it to work properly.

I just ran an ethernet cable to my doorbell for this very reason, even though I have the wifi version of this. I did have to remove a piece of trim, but it's really not that difficult. Just takes some time and patience.

I prefer the reliability of hardwired to wireless whenever possible. For this reason I ran an ethernet cable to my network closet from every room on the main level of my house. Going to figure out a way to extend it to the second floor as well when I have some time.

Get the New, 128 GB, you need an Endurance SD card, it's more like a real hard drive, error correction hardware on board. On sale $12.99 for 128GB.
The more capacity the less wear for the same amount of writing as it's over a bigger capacity. Cost of SD vs capacity vs wear, your call.. 64GB is the lowest you should go because of wear.

Many car dash cams get bad reviews because a standard SD card was used. These endurance cards used to be way more expensive.
High endurance has nothing to do with error correction. It's simply a matter of higher "endurance" meaning more statistical write cycles available for each write page of memory.
