ahh, yes i currently pay $3.99 a month for the doorbell, i wish they had a discount for 2 devices, $10 would mean the second device would cost $6 more
Yeah, doesn't really make too much sense if you only have a couple of cameras. It's easy if you have a doorbell and whole home setup.
I currently have a doorbell and six outdoor cams so makes it totally worth it. This will be my first indoor cam, mainly to keep an eye on the dog when we're gone.

Anybody have experience with the color night vision on this updated model?

Is it really that much of an upgrade?

Useful if you just want to drop in and see what's going on in your house without the need for looking back at recorded events.

I personally have the Protect plan which is only $100 a year and covers alarm monitoring and unlimited recording for all your cameras and doorbells.

I can vouch for the alarm service because I had some guy try to break in to my house at 230am while I was home, and i activated the alarm. Police showed up in 2 min and caught the guy in front of my neighbor's house.
Are you still paying $100/yr? Amazon wanted to raise rates to $200/yr on me, so I dropped the plan. Disappointed bc I had already invested quite a bit in alarm and cameras, but didn't see the benefit of the price. We live in a safe neighborhood and have been told by police officer friends in my area that home alarm are lowest priority for them. The alarm itself, with or without monitoring, should scare away any intruders, bc either way the intruder is long gone before police show up in my area.
Disappointed I invested in Amazon's system only for them to double rates the very next year. Wish I had invested in a system with features that weren't so dependent on a subscription plan

I had just been charged the $100 for the year prior to the price increase. I'll be honest with you, I would still pay the $200 when I come up for renewal. I was paying $52.99 a month with ADT for years, and their system was trash. No app monitoring. No cameras. Sensors going off for no reason. Keypad fixed to the wall downstairs without knowing what sensor was triggered. They've changed it a bit in recent years, but not soon enough for me. The Ring system isn't perfect, but it suits my needs.

Not sure if you read my post above about someone trying to break in to my house, but I live in a nice area also. I feel the argument for people who live in nice areas not needing to worry about theft isn't valid. A thief isn't gonna break in to a house in the ghetto because they don't have anything. They'll break in to nice homes, or homes in nice areas, because they have nicer things.

I also thought that the alarm going off would be enough to scare people off, but this guy kept walking back and forth around the back of my house while the alarm was blaring and my camera lights on. So much for deterrence. Like I said, I'm glad I had the monitoring service which deployed the PD quicker than if I had called 911 and explained the situation, not to mention possibly being put on hold.

Just my two cents.

I hate subscription services with a passion. That's why I only suggest Ring if you plan on getting the alarm plan. Even at $200/year for monitored alarm service is a good deal. It was a steal at $100/year. Look in to how much other alarm companies cost.

We've looked into it in the past as a baby monitor. Ring stupidly won't let you view more than 10 minutes in live view before it times you out. We returned it.

This worked for me for 2 cameras, but not a 2 pack of cameras. Go figure.
Same, weird it doesn't apply to the 2 pack. Maybe that's why they give you a free ring doorsign. 😂

The monitoring service is $100 for grandfathered plans and $200 for new plans. The $200 is a pro service with some additional benefits like data plan built in.

These services are as good or better than anything else available. I have over 30 cameras from ring all around and in public areas of the house. It pays for itself.

Cheap price ($29.99) on 2nd Gen (2023) of the indoor ring camera.

Extra $6 off at checkout if you have a ring protect plan down to $24.
How do you get the $6 ? I have the ring protection plan and don't see how to add the discount at the checkout.
