Think others have mentioned that the Trade in discount only becomes valid upon their receiving the device. You get a $5 gift card though immediately.

Thank you. I meant I think he said he got the trade in discount, but I didn't see it in his screenshot. Probably just misunderstood.

I ordered. The system gave me a $3 GC instantly for an older fire stick. However it did NOT give me the 20% trade in discount.

The CS is refusing to honor the 20% saying the system will give it automatically later. What should I do?

This might be the best/cheapest streaming device you can get for Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. I use mine to mirror my PC 70 ft. away onto my living rooms TV for gaming. I haven't had any issues with it. It's definitely snappier than my previous Firestick 4k model.

Traded in a pretty old Fire stick, got the $3 credit and then CSR made me reach out after the item arrived but would only give 20% refund of the purchasing price so I got $5.47 back

Ordered last night, arrived early this morning.
Other than 40% faster CPU, RAM is 2GB, compared to the last gen 4K stick @ 1.5GB.

Just received mine and is super happy: it is so much faster and responsive. Also it can finally control your TV's volume and on/off, also connect bluetooth headphone. After installing Kodi to use UPnP/DLNA, now it replaced my ChromeTV, Apple TV and TV remote. Wonderful!

How much quicker is the question. I have the 4K stick from 2020, but I have to turn it on/off twice before it boots up properly. First I turn it on, the FireTV logo is small and goes black. Then do it again, and it'll be normal size and load up.

Can I sideload Kodi?

Well you can get 3rd party ad blocked youtube apps on it, so that puts it above using an Xbox or PlayStation or the ones built into your TV.
If AppleTV is anywhere as locked down as modern iphones, it cant do this either. Chromecast, I imagine the same.
So theres this or the Nvidia Shield I guess? (Dont know jack about Roku)

Just did the trade-in with my current/older Fire Stick - was apprehensive with all the feedback of the 20% not showing up and CSRs denying people. I went ahead and pulled the trigger and chatted with a CSR immediately after placing the order. At first they told me the 20% discount doesn't stack with Deal of the Day offers. I went on to say this was the first time I've ever seen or heard that and if they can just make an exception to refund me 20% of the retail price ($11 in this case) back. I shared that many of my "friends" were able to successfully apply the 20% coupon at checkout but also that a number of other "friends" ran into the same issue that I had with the 20% not reflecting; those "friends" chatted with a CSR and were able to get the 20%/$11 refund back though.

I guess I got lucky because the CSR went ahead and initiated a credit for the $11 back hahaha.
