Edit: searched around XDA a bit. No magisk. No root. Not much interest from XDA community.

Amazon devices are a lot more locked down these days. I have older 4K sticks, those are rooted. If you want root, try to grab an older 4k model when it goes on sale at Woot or something. Then follow XDA directions.

Amazon got rid of trade in options which were stacking on top of the current sale price. I was able to process trade in and was instantly provided with a $3 gift card and 20% off coupon in my account but it didn't work as intended like for many of us here. After an argument with the supervisor they finally agreed to provide $11 credit to compensate

Warning for the Max Firestick---you will get constant storage warnings!!!
I've owned countless fireTVs and firesticks and this is the only one that ever gave me trouble. I checked and using the same apps I usually install.
I have to clear the cache for apps constantly, even the ones like News that I never use, just to get it to install new apps or even work without warning me.

I even bought the usb dongle to add usb storage, but even then, this thing still sucks and can only move 1 app to USB.
Haven't chatted with Amazon yet but I guess thats next. Just want to save yall some headache.

ONN doesn't have Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support. If you have home theater setup, it makes sense to upgrade to Firestick 4k Max

How laggy is this thing? All of my fire TV and even Tablets starts becoming laggy at one point.

I received $3 and instant 20% for a first gen stick without remote.

The 20% didn't show up in the cart. But after placing the order and chat with customer service, they put a note in my account to give me a $11 credit once I have the stick received (apparently will need to contact customer service again).
