As someone that installs Mini splits for a living, the Turbro brand is the finefare version of the carrier line that i install all the time...the Carrier branded stuff is twice the price and will probably give you 15 to 20 years of service where these others will probably be 5 to 10. I have repaired a lot of Senville, Durostar, and a few other off brand units that are all the same packaging and some of the same components as Carrier for the outdoor units. Indoor units seem cheaply constructed, but with proper purging and evac, should last.
The turbro is using the Midea app, just like the Carriers do...or i should say the carrier climate app is identical to the midea app.
If you want long lasting reliability Mitsubishi, but your gonna pay for that name and reliability. Carrier is step down from Mitsubishi, but not a huge one, and their technical support has been top notch...Mitsubishi's tech support is stellar...
Im installing Pioneer Diamante plus or ultra at my place, my landlord purchased, and from what ive seen of the outdoor unit they are a mostly the same parts as the carriers with a different board and inverter layout.
The biggest problems i run into are home owners doing the install, and then something goes bad in a year or two and its nearly the cost of the whole system to have a professional troubleshoot, fix, and recharge the system.
I'm biased cause i do this for a living, but having someone that does this everyday makes a bit of difference in the long-term life of the equipment, even the more affordable stuff.
If you don't know someone, then it's going to cost you multiple times the price of the unit to even have a warranty ("professional" install) or get it serviced (hint: labor not included).
Buy any decent unit, DIY, no complaining.
If I needed guaranteed reliability, I would just buy three of them, still save tons of money, and have spare parts (or whole units to swap) for as long as it could ever be useful.
All these "pre-charged" mini split units are misleading in their wording. They're all pre-charged in the main unit. What makes Mr. Cool and now EG4 is the pre-charged "line-set". Without that special valve on the line set, it's significantly more involved to have to to vacuum the line, pressure test, or even flare the lines.

You can just buy the Mr cool lineset and use it on any mini split
Wish I could find an installer that doesn't charge thousands
You mount the hardware and run wires/tubing. Find someone who will connect it for tax free cash, after hours or the weekends. Should only take them an hour or two.
Testing the lines for leaks was the most challenging part. It was surprisingly difficult to get fittings and adapters to connect the manifold gauge set I rented from my local auto parts store. Apparently the HVAC world has its own collection of fittings. Thank goodness for Amazon's 1-day delivery. After we got the hoses connected I found two leaks in the lines. One was from a defective flare.
The system is running well now.

Yeah always check the flares before releasing the refrigerant. Same goes for mrcool diy. If they somehow did the lineset incorrectly, then they'll send u a new lineset but the freon you lost is on you.
With regards to vacuuming the lines, you do it once and the rest is a piece of cake.
Love mrcools but theyre not worth 2x or sometimes 3x the price of a decent unit out there.
Yea for the same btu unit with mr cool this is far less. And I just wanted to double check if these were precharged or not then I can go to Harbor freight and grab a vacuum and manifold before hand
Can you please detail your vacuum and manifold purchase so I can buy them? Thanks

The Senville Leto is also in a similar price range (I believe these are made by midea and should be of similar quality) https://www.amazon.com/Senville-S...B00UV3LGUE
