I've had multiple sets of tires installed at Costco. Never had any problems with damage to my car or rims.

If you did experience any problems, I'm sure Costco would make it right.

This is a great deal.

I love Costco for tires. I've never had an issue, and their replacement/warranty is spot on. I'm not a car guy, and one of my favorite things about Costco tires is Costco has a certain level of product quality, so no matter what tire you get, you are essentially guaranteed a quality tire. Takes the stress out of tire shopping for me.

I don't think the level of hate for Costco tires is warranted here (I've purchased 4 sets from them over the years).

From what I saw, the $80 installation fee is added but then they take away the $120 off so it's a net $40 discount on four tires.

Omg, I must be out of touch
When did a set of 4 tires run
$900? Or more?

Michelin is generally expensive, and Costco (in my area) only stocks the most expensive Michelins like Pilot Sport. Very well-regarded tires, but very expensive.

Larger tires also cost more. If you're buying SUV or truck tires, the larger diameters can cost significantly more than sedan tires which may be 4 or 5 inches smaller.

Douglas All-Season 195/65R15 91H
Douglas has a 40k mile warranty

Michelin Defender (a popular choice on r/Prius) has an 80k warranty

Douglas is made by Goodyear for Walmart. They aren't a bad tire, but they aren't going to last as long as Michelins.

Not many places do that unless you buy "warranty certificates" for each tire that costs extra, and they'll still prorate you.
every good brand gives you a warranty that prorates anyways. You don't pay extra for the warranty

unless you are talking about non-defects like getting a flat

No balancing. Just rotation.
As per this line : Balancing is included:
The Installation Package also includes Lifetime Maintenance Services that extend throughout the life of the tires you purchase (some limits may apply). These Lifetime services include inflation pressure checks, tire balancing, tire rotations, as well as flat repairs.

They do rotations as well as balancing but they don't do wheel alignments.

In for a set of Michelin Cross climate 2's for my Odyssey van (19" tires) Total price after install and tax was $950 or so (6.25%tax).

I've used a lot of tire places over the years, and it always seems to come down to the actual technician working on your car. I've had mishaps from Town Fair tire (but I still like them a lot, and they really try to make things right when they mess up), from the Honda dealer and from National Tire and Battery. It's a crap shoot. I've never had a problem with the tires feeling like they're coming off, so that's the big thing for me.

I've never had Costco install, but I'm hoping it will be fine.

Anyone having trouble getting the discount to reflect in cart? I'm trying to buy a set of CrossClimate2's (235/55R18) which shows that it's eligible for the $180 discount. The discount displays all the way through adding to cart, but once I go to the cart (with the items added), the discount no longer appears and it tries to charge me the full amount.
Similar/better pricing at tirebuyer and quicker availability than Costco as Michelin currently has a $110 rebate off 4 tires (not valid at Costco).

https://www.michelinman.com/deals...nd-rebates

For example: CrossClimate2 235/55R19 for a 2018 Volvo XC90 is around $925 with installation at Costco in 5-10 business days.

TireBuyer is 2-3 days delivery and participates in various cash back sites plus 12% off promo code if shipped to installer. It is coming out to $1,000 installed BEFORE the $110 rebate and cash back. Net is around $850.

Now if you are looking at CrossClimates2, you may also want to consider Hankook Kinergy 4s2x if mild climate (eg just 1 or 2 snow storms).

Costco is the only one that does deals like this on Michelin Tires. Been waiting for this to come around again. Thanks for posting this. I got 4 22in defenders for my Truck. Expensive tire. Every bit helps.

Tempted but P4S's would still be at least $800 more than it would cost me to get some GY Eagle F1 SCs. Tread life would offset the cost, but the F1s are slightly better in dry conditions.

Man, I have had nothing but good experiences from Costco with multiple sets of tires. The only downside is how busy they usually are.
If you live in a rough part of town, Costco Walmart is gonna be mixed results at best

I quoted $330 for 4 Goodyear tires at Walmart. Costco similar set was $750 at Costco.

For most items Costco is double the price for slightly better quality

I just got the crossclimate 2 for my Tesla model y. Only issue is I'm getting custom non OEM sizes so they probably won't install it on the car. I heard u need to take the wheels off and bring it to them
