I've had multiple sets of tires installed at Costco. Never had any problems with damage to my car or rims.

If you did experience any problems, I'm sure Costco would make it right.

This is a great deal.

I love Costco for tires. I've never had an issue, and their replacement/warranty is spot on. I'm not a car guy, and one of my favorite things about Costco tires is Costco has a certain level of product quality, so no matter what tire you get, you are essentially guaranteed a quality tire. Takes the stress out of tire shopping for me.

I don't think the level of hate for Costco tires is warranted here (I've purchased 4 sets from them over the years).

From what I saw, the $80 installation fee is added but then they take away the $120 off so it's a net $40 discount on four tires.

Too bad Michelin raised their tire prices by at least 30% vs last year. They are almost cost prohibitive. Its a little less than $1k for 4 16" tires, before rebate. Everyone sells them at the same price too, price fixing.

Good deal but the lines and wait times at Costco tire centers are a deal breaker for me.

Can confirm costco does hire felons as i have friends that are not felons that work there
I've had two sets of Mich's put on my car, and multiple rotations where they have to bust the tires because of position specific TPMS sensors. Not so much as a scratch. I guess I live in a felon free zone. One set put on the other car, same perfect experience. First set got multiple nails, and they fixed them no appointment, no problem. The replacement set on car one used the pro-rata warranty on the 2nd set, and I still got the discounts. They hand torque the lugs too. It's the only option for me for tires, and car batteries.

Not speaking on experience weather it will be bad or good, nor siding with either or. Im just saying they hire felons. 1 story i can say that i heard is the felons that work around my friend would care less how the job is done. If your experience is good i hope it stays that way.

Never again. We took our car in for new tires, and shopped for groceries while they replaced them. When we were done shopping, we walked over to the tire center to pick up our car, and they told us that the technician was just finishing up. 5 minutes later, the service manager told me that 2 of the lug nuts broke off while the technican was tightening them, due to rust, and the car is now undrivable. The car is only 8 years old, and only had a little surface rust on the lug nuts, plus we have been taking the car in for regular tire rotations, with no issues. He then told us that the car would have to be towed, and they would only pay for the towing, and not the repair. We ended up returning the groceries for a refund, since we knew that it would be a couple of hours before we would be able to drive home with them. We even had to call to arrange for the towing, since they were not sure how to do it. It cost us $300 to have the lug nuts replaced, plus hours waiting in the service shop. We tried to make a claim after the fact, but Costco denied it. Serveral of our mechanic friends feel that the mechanic over-torque the lug nuts, and broke them off. Make sure that if you buy new tires, that they are able to replace the lug nuts and bolts on the spot if this occurs. Just a warning!

tire service in Costco is really bad, or worse.
suggest to take a picture for your car before installation, in case when they accidentally/unintentionally create some scratch on your car, you can ask some compensation

I would like to recommend American tire,

This still is really expensive. Costco was one of the highest when I was tiring shopping for my Prius last year. Walmart was the best deal by far.

That's not really a comparison, is it? When you said Walmart had the best deal, the implication was that they were also for Michelin tires.

What do you mean by "a bad tire"? Because it's not like that for a flat that can't be repaired (not sure ours ever been, but maybe). I went in with a tour that had a nail too close to the side so couldn't be patched, had to get a new tire. They prorated it, was about 3 to 6 months after initial install and cost me about $60 or $90 (can't remember exactly). You end up paying prorated amount off regular price since no sales on single tires and you need to pay for install.
My son used to get blowouts on his Xterra, 3 of them, after a short wait they would call us and we would leave with a new tire installed at no cost. They were famous for the best road hazard warranty.

So, you're complaining that they gave you 100% of the value towards a new purchase? Not many places do that unless you buy "warranty certificates" for each tire that costs extra, and they'll still prorate you.
Around here other shops just give you a new tire if you have the warranty, so yes I'm complaining....

They just did $200 off $900 a couple months ago, and I want to say I e seen it as high as $250. Good deal if you need tires now, but if not, could be worth waiting.

You guys don't realize that if you buy tires from costco it comes with lifetime free rotations, balancing, and the road hazard warranty. They use torque wrenches on your lug nuts (the air gun only goes to like 70 lb-ft and use a valve stem torque tool to do to like 10 lb-in. If you are concerned with wheel damage, take a photo of your wheels before you go because AFAIK all of the bays have cameras so they can look back - they have insurance for this. If you do get damage, do it then and there and not two weeks later.
No balancing. Just rotation.
