Paid $60 for mine (also tool only) almost 2 years ago ... so this seems like a pretty great deal. Works well with a nice & consistent spread. Would recommend.

Thanks for the feedback - planning to use this to spread grass seed.

Yes, I've been watching for a reduced price this year and have yet to see one.

Rather funny how I was in midst of telling a story of "the next tool I am going to buy when it goes on sale" and paused as the page loaded showing this tool actually on sale.

Got this from hd a few months ago. Spreader opening wouldn't open/adjust. No one else ever seemed to have this problem so I just ordered another. HD was great about the return.

Crank spreader is only $20 and is not a huge strain to have to use battery for it.

I would think (perhaps incorrectly?) That this battery version will produce a more even and consistent spread

just put down 160 pounds of lime, 50 pounds of 13-13-13, and 50 pounds of humic.

will do 50 pounds of chicken feed and 50 pounds of 30-0-12 in a few days.

1 gallon hand/battery spreader seems like such a small use case.

Really?

I know people will disagree with me but I assure you if you simply move your hand in the slightest, you can get a manual one of these and be totally fine, you probably wont even lose any weight because god forbid people exert more energy than they need to.

Of all the battery operated tools I've seen, this is for sure up there in the Why? Top 5

Coming from someone that buys commercial/pro tools for residential property because I can, not that I have to so I'm not above it all when it comes to consumerism but I'd pick a decent manual one over this if both were free or same price.

Help me understand something… I've used both a spreader and a wheelbarrow and hand… the spreader didn't disperse seeds well would always get clogged and eventually the rotating handle broke off. What is the point of a spreader vs just using your hand and going by eye

It is. It's for spot landscaping with specialty fertilizer and barriers around the house. Small lots zero lot yards. Now if you want to make it part of your exercise routine go for it. Take note that their is no arm or wrist support. Your wrist will hurt carrying a battery and product in this manner after 5 minutes.
Unless of course your arms are built like PopEye. 😬

Same here. I wonder if Alexa is listening. 🥴

Same thoughts. On moving around. It's like the remote on your tv. Don't move around you might get winded. Don't get up to turn off that light. Let it burn or ask Alexa. I will admit though that I am guilty of all those things. I love my gadgets. My Cardiologist hates automation.

For something that costs 2.5 times more plus the battery, I would need more assurances that this is the case, and even so, maybe for certain uses it may not be needed.
