I bought this 2 years ago when this was a clear winner for price to performance, but the retro-handheld space has blown up where that is no longer the case, even at this price. This does not have bluetooth, wifi, or hdmi-out. Anything past ps1 is hit or miss, but found only handheld emulation (gb, gbc, gba) legible on the 3.5 inch screen. This is a clear winner for GBA lovers, since the 3:2 inch screen is a perfect aspect ratio match. If I were to buy a retro-handheld today, I would get the powkiddy X55, which has great community software, hdmi-out, wifi, bluetooth, larger screen, and better performance, for under $100. Both are best when flashing a custom OS to an SD card , and would pass if that's not something that sounds fun to do.

Best way is to plug it into a computer and use a shell cmd prompt. I found it by searching for a script that I can run, saw a post on reddit where a guy suggested a simple she'll command to the folder in your computer, and he was down voted for suggesting a shell in a script subreddit. Still, worked super quick, though you have to separate some files into a subfolder because not all of them have numbers before the name. You'll figure it out when you see the folders. Took me about 10 minutes to get them all done while eating some hot wings.

It's worth checking temu - if you use a new account (you can make as many as you want), they'll usually give you a $25 off coupon

Got the rg35xx for $25 during the last time it was posted. They had this one for $50 or less. Lastly temu has a shorter shipping turnaround

I'm currently attempting for the 2nd time to get the rg35xx from temu, but the best coupon I'm getting is $20 off, which brings it to $40. I want to spend closer to $25-30. I guess they're offering smaller discounts now?

I also got the rg35xx from Temu. I have not setup GarlicOS yet but will be doing that shortly. The community support seems great though

I have this handheld and I honestly can't recommend it when RG353xx is around. And if you're not stuck on Anbernic then you should get the powkiddy rk2023 and put arkos on it. Same price too if you get a deal on it.

For $20 more you can get an rg353 device. All of the Anbernic devices that end with a xx3 will be using a more power chip than this one allowing them to play most N64, as well as some PSP and dreamcast. It's a big upgrade and worth the $20 imo.

Also some people have said the best deal right now is the Powkiddy x55 for $90. No matter what devices you choose, you can replace the stock operating system with a much better custom os since these are all using open source processors.
