This is supposed to be a good creator laptop with good performance there. I read it has bad gaming performance though, so be aware. This may have been a driver issue, and if so I don't know if it's been fixed or what the issue is there.

Without having looked it up on this laptop yet so anyone feel free to correct me if this isn't a fairly standard use of the term on this laptop.

Creator and Media laptops are often clocked and/or volted differently so may be terrible at gaming while still being better at what they were designed for than a seemingly "better" gaming device would be. It is the same as can often be found in stuff labeled "workstation" or "server" etc although the terms are ill defined and not uniform between manufacturers. As a general rule of thumb a "gaming" labeled device will be the top performance of any general usage device whereas an otherwise labeled device will likely be better performance at very specific sets of tasks or far more energy efficient for the same performance in those tasks etc. It is rarely a driver problem or even a problem really since it is intentional by design but it is definitely good advice to be aware of the possible differences.

Note to those who plan on buying this and upgrading the RAM. The process is arduous where you have to remove motherboard (many screws and cables).

My bad forgot to comeback and update this earlier. I saw that review also and intended to give more info. That was a review model of the laptop that according to them did not have specifically bad performance as extremely inconsistent performance with seemingly random framerates as they sometimes went significantly up on more taxing settings and down on lower settings.

The other reviews and the couple of forum threads available for this model list the performance as on par with other 90w versions of the card. RTX 3080 Ti can be found in various TGP ranges from 80 W all the way up to 175 W. So the primary issue in this case is the low wattage card. There is mention of the drivers they mention in the above review but it doesn't seem to change the numbers much compared to other low wattage versions of the card so I would tend to agree with the review that it was likely a review model issue not an ongoing problem.
Generally it seems that a 90w 3080 ti is more likely to perform like a card at least 1 to 2 steps down or anywhere from 20-30% lower performance compared with a 175w version. This is still excellent performance if you know what to expect going into it but if you are looking at any laptops that have the 120-175w 3080ti vs laptops that have the 80-110w it is going to be a very noticeable performance difference. In this case it isn't even only "creator" models. Many of the gaming models also have substantially different wattages on their cards.

This can be remedied via vbios flash, although it may cause other minor issues with power

Looks nice, but be sure to also check out this same priced ASUS X16 which has a brighter (500 nits) touch screen and similar processor Ryzen 9 6900HS and amazing battery life.
NOW the graphics procesor on this MSI is 3070 vs the Asus x16 is 6GB RTX3060 so lower graphics.

https://slickdeals.net/f/16620434-asus-rog-flow-x16-touch-gaming-laptop-1300-at-best-buy?v=1&src=SiteSearch
BUT Asus has excellent cooling and a 240W power supply.
Same price so take a look at this one also...

Anyone else have any comments? My importance is on screen quality + touch and this x16 is amazing and bright. I'm not a gamer but was looking for cheap performance and great battery life + 16" screen.
