With electrical tape, even the cheap ones, I had the problem that the residue was more annoying while the quality of the tape itself was ok. How about this one?

Cheap tape gets hard over time and the glue gives out and sticks to everything but the tape. Scotch 33+ is the best electrical tape but its expensive. I would never use this for electrical insulating applications.
33 or Bust! I would only use this stuff for temporary fixes. It will peel, unstick, and fall apart, even left on the roll!! This is good maybe for crafts, but don't use on electrical. The 33+ It's about 6x the price, but it's one and done!

This duck tape is not automotive tape, but it is a cheap black electrical tape that will unwrap &/or crack.
If you're wrapping electrical wire you want it to stay wrapped and stay insulated.
I totally agree with the others who rec the 3M SUPER series of tapes. Don't cheap out.
