Sorry for the offtopic question:
I was on the receiving end of such a grandfathered account, but it stopped about a month ago. Can't find the original Prime account holder, CSR says there is no connected account, and I found the old email from Amazon that someone invited you to Prime, but it doesn't have the email address of the donor account. You know of any trick to switch the donor account to someone else? Chats CSR wasn't able to see my prime history and said that can be done through the "Household" but I don't like the idea of sharing the payment methods
Thanks
Unfortunately, you can not make any changes. I was not even able to see options to remove members recently. It likely looks like we will soon lose that sharing benefit.

In my experience, amazon business has been consistently cheaper than regular amazon for what I purchase for my business. Don't understand the people saying otherwise on this thread

Looks like the 5% chase amazon prime card doesn't work with Amazon Business, you'd have to get the separate AMEX card. So if you don't get that card, the business discount needs to be more than 5% for it to make sense. Let me know if this is wrong!

Is this just for one year, or more?
Looks like Business Duo is a new option that's free (they want to upsell you to the regular paid Business account), so this is for as long as Amazon chooses to keep running it

I have two EIN and suspect I could have more. I have a business account and am rarely get to use offers mentioned here. for instace, I have rewzrds points I can't use. wish there was clear info on what is available.
You can have more than one EIN if it's a different business structure like an LLC or a S-corp, but one for a company designated as a sole proprietorship. Are you saying you have more than one EIN assigned to a sole proprietorship?

beware: the price on the business purchase is higher than same item on personal account. They assume businesspeople have lots to do and can't bother shopping around for best price
This is definitely false.

Also, which purchase and/or item are you even talking about? Are you aware that there are a bajillion different things to buy on Amazon?

Just went through the process, entire thing took literally 2 minutes. There doesn't seem to be any downside whatso ever if you already have a standard Prime account. I don't own any business, so I just selected the 'Sole proprietor" option.

It asked for my name, address, SSN, and "business card" (just used my Prime Visa) and "documents", but I just skipped uploading anything and just hit next. It said I was successfully verified and the next step asked if I wanted to link it to my personal prime account, which I did.

Currently logged in and everything seems fine. Seems I can get discounts if I use the business prime account, so it's like, why not?

There is no benefits for business account.
More screwed up for little gain.
Benefit - ability to purchase double the limit of quantity limited items. This is particularly helpful if you do manufactured spending via buying clubs.

The claim is a valid "beware," but it is not a blanket truth. I have had business and personal accounts for quite a while - there can be, but not always is, a price difference. That price difference can be higher, and it can be lower. There also are sale and coupon differences, quantity differences and even in-stock differences with an item being available in the business when not in the personal account. There are probably more differences than those, I just don't track or care that much to worry about. When I am making a meaningful purchase, I generally check both accounts Roughly I find a difference under 10% of the time, it's infrequent, but it does occur, and sometimes it can save quite a bit with the business price being way lower.

It IS higher for a few items, but I have also found business pricing and quantities to be cheaper.

People are making stupid assumptions and don't realize that purchasing in bulk commands a discount.

When I register for a business account from my existing prime personal account I can't advance beyond entering my phone # since it is already used for my personal account. Are we supposed to have separate phone #s for business to access this deal?

Is there any downside to adding the business account?
