I paid $1k retail during the pandemic for the 90 lbs model. For this price, I could buy two sets and tape them together for 100 lbs, and still have money left to pay for the urgent care bill.

Please Note: The Sport 50 and PowerBlock 50 are the same product with the exception of color

Had these when in NY but sold them when I came down to FL. Bought them for $280 in pandemic times which I thought was a steal and sold them for $220. And now they are selling for even cheaper.

Pro's of these are you really don't have to worry about any mechanism failing. Metal construction. Small length.

Cons - a little unbalanced, weight in different areas. Would prefer a metal one thickness grip, not the ergo/comfort grip.

People complain that they are not expandable but you can get a decent amount done with them. There are a bunch of single arm exercise that 50 is good for. And 100 ain't bad for single leg exercises.

Thanks for posting OP, I'm in for a pair.

Good deal, Non-expandable version though.

I have the expandable version from the last deal, but my buying addiction is telling me to get these. Might need another pair on hand for my future home gym partner

not sure which one i should get, power block 50 or sport 50. i know that neither are expandable, but is the color really the only difference? maybe the plates are coated differently? idk, if anyone with experience can chime in itd be greatly appreciated

Only difference is in the color. Second sentence and in bold...

The weight being too light for some people is totally subjective depending on the strength of the person so that complaint is viable

Never said the complaint isn't viable. Def some people out there that 50 isn't enough.

Had these for about 6 months to use while in lock down. They're really great for a lot of exercises. Been looking to pick up a set again.

The only drawback is the range which you can bend your wrist. Because there's metal bars that may impede. So wrist curls for example are difficult to perform.

But overall a great product and looking forward to a set. Thanks OP

As a former owner of a 50lb set for 10 years... If you think you will want more than 50lbs then hold out for the expandable set if you can. When it surfaces buy as much expansion as you ever think you'll need all at once.

These are awesome kit, but you'll kick yourself when you want more weight. You'll also kick yourself when finding the expansion sets for your particular pair becomes hard or impossible, they dont always maintain compatibility and stock.

At the current prices woot has been offloading these for it's not even "buy once cry once". It's "buy now and rejoice in the all time low price score!" Prices like this were hard to come by even pre-pandemic. Likely a result of pandemic overstock and home gym equipment demand crash this year. I wish similar would happen with car prices, lol.

Linky to previous deal on exp set. Hope this surfaces again for those who are looking. Originally the deal included stage 1 also. Total price for 90lb was $360.

i saw it buddy, my question was directed to anyone who has had experience with the 2 thatre listed since these models are no longer on the powerblock website. there are differences in some of the models that even powerblock themselves dont always advertise. grip diameter, coating etc.

Lol, I can't stop thinking. Grip diameter, you mean girth of the shaft! 🤔 some say that is the most important dimension 😁

They're exactly the same buddy except the color. Pick with confidence with whichever you think is prettier lol.

I'd go with the black plate one instead of the gray, but that's just me. It'll hide any defects there may be, better.

How much did the expandable base pack run?
