I paid $1k retail during the pandemic for the 90 lbs model. For this price, I could buy two sets and tape them together for 100 lbs, and still have money left to pay for the urgent care bill.
Had these when in NY but sold them when I came down to FL. Bought them for $280 in pandemic times which I thought was a steal and sold them for $220. And now they are selling for even cheaper.
Pro's of these are you really don't have to worry about any mechanism failing. Metal construction. Small length.
Cons - a little unbalanced, weight in different areas. Would prefer a metal one thickness grip, not the ergo/comfort grip.
People complain that they are not expandable but you can get a decent amount done with them. There are a bunch of single arm exercise that 50 is good for. And 100 ain't bad for single leg exercises.
You sure about that? I'm searching Slickdeals and can't find that. I thought, though could be wrong, the cheapest the expandable ones were were around $280. then around 90 for stage 2 and 70 for stage 3. Total would be $440.
Got ya. Didn't see anything in the title. I do see it at the bottom of the discription
thanks, that is a great deal. Only negative one could say is the 10lb increment but easy fixable with some magnet weights.

The link"itsaceyo" provided is the one. At the very bottom of the description, you will see that they were $199. It was a hell of a deal.
Wow awesome deal. Does anyone know how one might do 2.5lb increments on these? Sometimes 15 is too much and 10 is not enough. Sometimes I just need a 12.5
I took small neodymium magnets and used gorilla glue to adhere them to a pair of 2.5lb standard plates I had. Since the sides of the powerblocks are flat and large they sit perfect, don't move, and shaking them stupidly doesn't move the plates in the least.
I don't know if 5lbs per side would hold as well though. For me, that was a great addition of 5lbs or so, per side.
I've been debating these and the Bowflex version for like 5+ years now. I can never pull the trigger.
I owned the Bowflex and I loved them. Used them for about a year then got an irresistible deal on the Powerblocks. Feel in love with them and sold the Bowflex.
Main reason is that Poweblock felt more like a "real" dumbbell when working out. The length of the dumbbell is constant with the Bowflex no matter what weight you use. The Powerblock is more compact at lighter weights. You can feel this. This is why I hated using Bowflex for curls.
Keep in mind that this set is not expandable. This may or may not be a bad this depending on your goals. If you're an experienced lifter, it may be too light for pressing and rows (maybe curls too). Beginner or intermediate, these will probably be adequate for at least a few years in the 8-20 rep range.
In my opinion, Sports feel the best next to the Pro. I personally don't like the Pro because the urethane makes the dumbbells awkwardly and unnecessarily long (see Bowflex). They are quieter, though, if you're into that. I like the clanking because I'm full of machisino.
PowerBlock Elite 50lb aren't listed as compatible on the product page for the stand. Can anyone confirm or deny if this stand will work with my PowerBlock Elites?

Technically they will fit IF you never plan to upgrade to stage 2/3. Since the stand is meant only for the 50lb and below variants.
If you're a little bit of a DIY'er, then you could technically cut a piece of wood the size of your EXP powerblock Elites length then fix it to the stand.

Most people who want that go with magnet adder weights.

i never used these type of weights before. only dumbells at gym. how do you do leg lift exercises with these?

There is no leg lift exercise like a hamstring curl or leg extension. But you can do leg exercises. For example while holding dumbbells in your hands you can do walking lunges. You can do squats. You can put one leg up on the bench or couch and do split squats. You can do single leg hamstring movements. I was just trying to point out that a decent amount can be done with just 100lbs.
Mine came in tonight. Aside from having to destroy the box to get them out, they arrived in perfect new condition. Anyone know what the handle alone weighs? The instructions that came with it refer to the Powerblock EXP which comes with micro weights which this set does not. Just wondering because the first increment for the pin is 20lbs. Handle feels like 5lb. Dunno...
