I used Chase points which I transferred to British Airways and booked Qatar airlines as British and Qatar are partners.
I spent 70k points each way+ $ 131 in taxes and fees
No. Business class tickets in cash is hardly discounted unless you buy coach and hope to get an upgrade at the time of check in. I have done that in the past and had to pay very low price for the upgrade, may be around $700 each way.
But that might not be the case these days.
People are downvoting but as someone who's actually been there I strongly agree.
Add that to flying AA - their international flights SUCK.
Great price but one of the last options I'd ever choose for a trip.
