pretty sure the reason for no returns is speculation. You buy it for $2k, then price of gold drops to $1500, you return it to get your original $2k. If stocks worked like that, you'd never lose.

I once put up a new computer up for sale on eBay. I had about 50 fraudulent queries. Then eBay said "some of the customers approaching you are frauds" and removed my listing plus all its details. I listed it again, having to go through every step of creating that listing. And a similar thing happened. Instead of getting rid of its fraudulent "customers" eBay kept punishing me. So, yes I don't know how people do business on eBay.

and unless you have a trained eye, it may be difficult to tell if it's legit without opening it and testing it... but once you open it, you lose some of the "trust" that it's a sealed package and less likely to swapped. a bit of a catch-22.
