You have a good point for now.

I still have mint condition cds from 35 years ago, and they're mine forever. In just the 10-15 years I've used amazon music, I've had things (that I purchased) whimsically disappear from their digital catalog. When you don't own something physical, you're far more at the mercy of agents, attorneys, executives, etc, to bend you to their will.

Amazon's new Prime Music policy is horrendous. All our devices do now is try to sell us Unlimited whenever we request something. I've been a customer since '97 and shareholder since '05 and I am not giving them another dime for subscriptions beyond Prime. I'd rather take my time and buy up the stuff I want.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just getting tired of the subscription model. Now it's on cars and there's no going back. Soon BMW will charge you $3/mo for turn signals, but thankfully with BMW drivers that's not an issue Smilie

Going to see Metallica in East Rutherford next month when they kick off the NA leg of their 72 Seasons tour. Their new album rips! Lars did fantastic on drums and I am no Lars fan at all.

Free autorip version (Puppets) has a TON of bonus tracks, fyi. Some demos, lots of live versions. I was pleasantly surprised. Now I have a disc, a bunch of extra digital tracks, and ripped it to FLAC. Best of everything.
