Monoprice has a bad reputation? According to who? I've never had a bad experience with them. They even replaced an out-of-return period power brick that I bought that had died.
Considering monoprice not having the best reputation, does anyone have a review if this deals worth it?

Also I've had friends with not the best experiences during pc builds. But that's just hearsay.
Most of the negative reviews seems to be from people who are upset the company didn't bend over backwards to accommodate them with pricing or returns or some other Karen type complaint.
I've used them for the better part of 20 yrs and never had any issues whatsoever. You cannot beat their pricing on most things and the quality has always been acceptable at a minimum and often times higher than expected.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a good deal.
About the only thing I could say negative about them is that shipping is not free. So that usually prevents me from ordering one off little things like a patch cable from Monoprice. For that I'll go to Amazon since I have prime. But whenever I'm working on a project that needs a bunch of stuff that they carry, I always order from MP. They're especially useful for bulk cable.

Went with the Monoprice TT, after watching this review: https://youtu.be/z2gPRLgJVOw I have personally never had any issues with Monoprice, have always used them for cables, a guitar and a fightstick, all still in operation and working great. Excited to get back into vinyl again, hoping this gets the job done! I was previously interested in the Orbit Special in Walnut but by the time you add the preamp you are at $569!

This or the fluance 82 for $299? I do not have preamp but will be getting a receiver shortly.
The Monolith has a preamp built in AND has an AT‑VM95E - one of the best sub $100 needle carts you can get. This is a solid turntable, very upgradable, and highly reviewed. I think I might be in.
UPDATE: $15 off with code MPNW2X23A (new customers only, so you may need to use a throwaway email)

This particular Monoprice turntable is manufactured in China by the same company that makes most $250 and under wood colored manual turntables. This includes brands like 1 by One and Angel's horn. They are nearly identical and not bad. The best price I see now is the 1 by One from Amazon.
The "1 by One Turntable" with these same features is currently $120 after coupon on Amazon, They have a higher end version with a sweet looking acrylic plinth (body) for $150 after coupon.
Note that none of these will shut off after the record is done. They are fully manual so you have to cue up the record and then not fall asleep before its over. That would drive me nuts cause I doze a lot.
