Agree that's a great deal. Someone share on SD yesterday https://slickdeals.net/f/16766054. Personally, based on the location I want to mount mine, the flood one is a bit too much (I already have a flood one on a different location). This spotlight version has the slimmer profile that I want and I don't need that much light.

Anyone have trouble with the battery and solar addon that says it is in battery mode all the time. I hate that it only takes 1 hr snapshots. I have the older spotlight cam with solar and it doesn't do that. Only the plus version does.

There's a setting on the camera on how often it is recording throughout the day, when no events are happening, so that if something happened but outside the motion zones it would capture it. The 1 hr snapshot shows what happened every hour. Only if someone or something is in the zone it records.

On numerous occasions, ring has given law enforcement access to their network of cameras without a warrant and without consent from the customer. The first time they got caught, they made a big deal of stressing how important it was that the user had ultimate control over whether law enforcement can access their cameras... Only to be caught again and again in allowing unrestricted access to their network.

You want to participate in big brothers network? That's fine. But at least don't be a paying simp and get a ring camera for free from your local police department. Plenty of local law enforcement departments have had ring drives where they distribute their cameras for free. In the two years since this article came out, nothing has changed.

There is definitely something interesting here, and I might go the PoE route, but I'm not sure how hard it would be to run an Ethernet cable where the doorbell is now.
