they literally increased the sensor size with the 11. Size isn't the issue, bigger isn't always better especially when they need to prioritize readout speeds. I'd much rather have better slowmo, better stabilization, better bitrates, than slightly better low light. And as you said, phones are great for that. Specialized cameras don't need to be good at everything they just have to be the absolute best at their niche.

My Costco Warehouse also has the GoPro Hero10 bundle for $289.97, which I actually bought for $369.99 on 4/21/23 - also a great deal for someone in need.

Just wanted to hit this thread with my 2 cents. I am an old go pro 3 user. I borrow a 6 and 8 once a year from friends to do a muddy event. This year i decided to buy the 11 since i had big vacation and wedding on schedule. The 11 package comes 2 enduro batteries which from what i read was a big deal upgrade. To me the stabilization and 1 year"subscription" benefits is what sold me.(auto upload, replacement insurance). Read up on these if your on the fence. If you use it, the memories you save are priceless. Those comments comparing the GoPro sensor size to your 1k$ phone camera are just not realistic. ✌️

My Costco Warehouse also has the GoPro Hero10 bundle for $289.97, which I actually bought for $369.99 on 4/21/23 - also a great deal for someone in need.

GoPro Hero 12 coming in 2 months so they need to get rid of trash.

And FFS are they ever going to increase the sensor size and battery? Even some flagship phones have larger sensors to capture low-light better but for some reason GoPro has been stubbornly using the same sensor size for the last 15 years. I am willing to trade a little bit of size for quality.

I bought the GoPro 10 last week for $299.97 at my local Costco. I haven't opened it yet. Is it worth the extra $40 to upgrade to the GoPro 11? This will be our first GoPro so I don't know too much about them. We are purchasing it for our upcoming vacation to Aruba where we will be doing lots of snorkeling (with the waterproof case).

I personally don't think so. This also doesn't come with a dedicated charger whereas the 10 does. Good for being able to swap batteries..and charge the other while using.

Listen to this person. I lost my GoPro battery charger. Having to recharge my spare battery is a PITA as the battery takes a very long time to fully recharge in the GoPro. You can easily go through 2 full batteries in a full day out on vacation.

Agree with the charger. It's a must-have. There was a package that included an extra battery with the charger. Having extra batteries is important.

FYI: The main mount my gopro 10 is always on is the Magnetic Swivel Clip. Works for most situations as u can hold it in your hand like the Shorty but also mount/clip it on some stands, etc.
