I was going to post this deal but glad someone already did . This is a great price for this model. i just got one for myself ..will be replacing Yamaha RX-A4A which is a good receiver but I always love Onkyo more .

I got one of these locally for this price. Really liking it. So far so good. My one wish is that it had Tidal Connect. But apparently very few receivers do.
Depends on brand preference and priority of features.
If you don't have a brand preference and power and Dirac are at the top in features.
This might be the better choice.
If you use an external amp, the power advantage may not be a big difference/benefit.
As far as Dirac, Dirac Live RC is included in the price of this.
The 3800 you will have to purchase Dirac ($349) & a calibrated mic($100-$125).
On the other hand, in the long run the 3800 will get the option for the other half of Dirac…. DLBC some time next year, unlike this AVR.
