And I only see one used floyd model on reverb right now for the same price as this new one.
Just make sure you go in to a music store, a Guitar Center ideally, and put your fingers on a guitar there with Pau Ferro wood. That's the feeling you will have with this guitar and make sure that is OK with you. This is NOT a Maple neck like real Strats have nor is it a nicer wood like Rosewood or, the fastest fretboard of all, Ebony (which is basically like stone). Also, in Acoustics (most especially Martin) they use Richlite .. which is fake wood but .. man, it feels great to play. Those people really know how to make guitars.
To be clear, it's a personal choice .. an opinion .. about Pau Ferro. I've played for 40 years and to me, Pau Ferro, that junk feels like a K-Mart kids toy guitar.
Doesn't mean that's your opinion.
Just make sure you know what you are getting before you lay out seven-hundred bucks after taxes.
The player series are great guitars.
As others have said, the plus top has the flamed Maple veneer top. The Player plus has the locking tuners, rolled Fingerboard edges, Noiseless pickups...etc.
I scored a Player Plus nashville telecaster in 10/2022 off Amazon. It is fantastic. It is my go to guitar. I have been stalking Amanzon ever since for a similar deal on a stratocaster Player plus.

Got a player plus PJ last holiday when they were going for the same price as these and it is MUCH better to play. Not sure if the quality has improved, or maybe it's just the rolled fingerboard but I don't hate it as much as I used to.
Would still prefer rosewood though.

Rosewood seems to become increasingly rare on budget guitars.
