You should be able to. I used an REI gift card to buy my America the Beautiful park pass last year.

That restriction says the purchase "of" gift cards, not purchase "with" gift cards. That is probably to restrict double-dipping.

I don't see any mention in your link or on my own research to suggest purchases "with" gift cards do not qualify for the dividend.

Yeah I'm pretty sure using a gift card at REI does NOT prevent the 10% reward/dividend from accruing as long as the purchase is otherwise eligible. I just looked in my purchase history and found multiple purchases that were partially or entirely paid for with gift cards and the order summary still says I accumulated X.XX in rewards. And the reward amount was always 10% of the total purchase- not 10% after the gift card amount or anything like that.

Seems like a good deal. REI has an upcoming promotion starting July 14 where if you spend $100, you get a $20 REI bonus/gift card. Seems like you should be able to buy this gift card at Target, get the $20 Target card, then use that gift card from Target at REI between July 14-24 to get another $20 REI bonus/gift card. So basically $40 back ($20 REI, $20 Target) for spending $100 at REI. Plus I'm pretty sure the $10 from the 10% reward/dividend.

And like others mentioned, check your Circle offers. I have one for a $15 card after a $120 purchase that I'm pretty sure will stack with this. So I'm adding another $20 to my REI gift card order so I should get the $20 and another $15.

Edit: Yep, $100 REI + $20 Nintendo (I'll buy a game eventually) gets me $20 + $15 Target gift cards. Next week, I'll use the $100 REI at REI to qualify for a $20 REI card. So in all, $120 at Target gets me $120 at REI, $35 at Target, and $20 at Nintendo - $175 for $120.

Nice deal. Had a Circle offer for $10 reward with a $90 or more purchase. And used Discover Apple Pay for 5% back too. Thanks!

Dang it. I have all these Target gift cards that I was hoping to convert to REI gift cards, but they won't let you use gift cards to make the purchase.

If it helps, I placed 3 separate orders and were all successful. My Target account was automatically loaded with 3 $20 GCs.

You have to buy regular merchandise. No retailer (that I've heard of) allows you to purchase gift cards with gift cards.

Good to know. The terms and conditions in Target Circle says limit one per user so I assumed it would be limited to one.
