I'd compare app lists but personally, I like the roku UI better
Based on a quick look through the specs comparing them Dolby atmos, better Wi-Fi and rechargeable hands free remote. Those features are all on the Ultra so it really just depends on your usage.

roku remote app can turn your TV on/off and control volume. Private listening doesn't require any pairing of headphones with the stick as long as the headphones are already paired with your phone. those are 2 big ones for me. Roku OS is also much easier to use from my personal experience

Any reason to get this over a Fire TV Stick 4K Max for $25?

"Airplay"
Fire Stick doesn't support Apple Airplay while Roku does.

(Note: If your TV has in-built support for AirPlay. It doesn't matter which Stick you buy.)

see this page on roku and select the two devices to compare
https://www.roku.com/products/compare

the Ultra besides having the best wifi of their devices, also has ethernet connection which is the better option if you can connect the unit directly to your router.

also the remote is a higher end remote (see comparison).

I believe it also has more memory and storage so it can start up the selected streaming service a little faster.

the current model of both devices now support Dolby Vision (previous 4k stick did not).

I've had a Streaming Stick+ and I've had an Ultra. As others have stated, a difference is that this does not support Dolby Atmos. However, another issue is that this thing can overheat. Mine went months without ever overheating, but once it did, it would do it frequently. It crashes and you have to unplug it and let it cool down. Granted mine was the model before this, so maybe it's not the issue it used to be.

I use the Roku for travel, it's a lot easier to connect to hotel WiFi that has a login page since you can do it on your phone.

These are great for travel. Works well with hotel Wi-Fi and since it controls the tv it's so easy to use

Aren't most hotel TVs nowadays locked down to the point that you cannot use the TV remote to switch the input to the HDMI port that you have your Roku connected to?
