I question the legitimacy of that site. The address they list doesn't exist according to google and the domain registration is hidden.

The real Irwin Tools site is https://www.irwintools.com/ (their domain registrar is Stanley Black&Decker)
$6 if you have a Menards nearby. Menards SKU: 2423501
Great price, but unfortunately it's a clearance item with only 10 left sprinkled across 3 stores in Indiana and 1 in Illinois. https://www.menards.com/main/tool...-10079.htm

Yep, the in-store inventory is extremely low.
All the stores I checked mostly had only 1 set in stock, 2 at the most.

Can't beat these. Even if you have a set of spade style bits buy these.

It was great using these for drilling holes to route ethernet riser cables. much smoother and cleaner than spade bits.

i lost one of mine drilling between floors, now have to buy another set. make sure to tape these bits to your magnetic bit holder so you never lose these lol

Looking for recommendations for masonry drill bits and also for other applications (wood, plastic). I have Dewalt drills. Tx!

If anyone doesn't understand the difference between these and spade bits, the screw tips on these pull the bit through the wood (until the last 1/4"). Huge difference, especially where you can't position yourself to put direct pressure on the drill motor, say, drilling holes in studs sideways for cables.

I've had two sets of these, super fast and efficient. It's a rush going through 6" - 8" of solid oak between joists. Squeeze the trigger and hold on.

Only complaint is the nib at the end of the shank has broken off on two of the bits. It appears the groove is too deep which creates a weak spot that fails. Maybe the reason they're on clearance now.

I've owned this exact set for maybe 10 years. I've run a lot of electrical and cat6 cabling with it. Crushes right through joists. LOVE IT! Even have pushed it through double headers. Just be very careful not to get stuck!

I've also used one of the angle extensions. This is ballzy, but it's worked. Test and be careful. Get used to it so you don't risk it getting stuck. Move of the time you can pull back in reverse if you do get jammed up.

GREAT PRICE! Almost wanna buy another set just to have a fresh set, but it's been a bit since I've needed to drill holes again. I did most reno in my home and the requirement is much less often now.

I typically used 3/4" for single 14/2 or 14/3 runs, and 1" for multiple runs of 12/2+.
I used 5/8" for cat6, although sometimes I used a regular/smaller drill bit for that too if I wanted the cable snug somewhere.
