IMO... the U8H is better. It has better specs, i.e. more brightness, wider color gamut, a lot more dimming zones, etc. However, the Q7, being a year newer, probably has better processor/software, as it does very well despite lesser overall specs. If you're interested in the U8H, I don't think the price will go much lower, if at all. If you're not in a hurry, and prefer TCL over Hisense, the Q7 will probably be lower around the Holidays... I'm guessing $499ish.

How does this one compare to the R635 Series that Costco is selling for $530??
All specs seem to be the same just that it is Roku instead of Google.
4k, QLED, 120 refresh ratio .
I need a decent 55" tv and can't afford an OLED...
It's been awhile since I bought a TV and I'm finding myself overwhelmed by all the options...
I purchased this from the deal. Blacks are great. Color is great. If i'm going to nit pick, I get some screen reflection when i have all my lights on. It not an OLED level TV but if OLED is 10/10 this would likely be a 6+/10 at 1/3rd the price. . . The google TV integration seems to be snappy.
I went into Best Buy and saw the 75 inch in person. Looked good for my needs and the price is right. I'll use it for PS5, Nintendo Switch and streaming apps. The employees scoffed at the idea of a TCL when I expressed interest in this model. They very quickly pointed me to the Sony 75 inchers, being the X85K for $1199 and the X90K for $1499. One employee said the X85X is the lowest he'd consider if using for PS5 and movies.
I went ahead and purchased the 75 Q7 but were the salespeople just pushing Sony hard or is that really that much better for an extra $200 and $500 respectively? Curious on others thoughts on this.

It's been almost 2 decades but when I worked at best buy larger companies would send reps to "educate" the sales teams and throw FUD at other brands. If you look at what is on floor TCL doesn't look like they have invested in this for best buy. Also best buy use to push for ecosystem add ons and having professional installs done.
The X90k is awesome; however, no reason for them to be Sony shills. They likely only know of tcl due to their entry TV's and have not followed the higher end.

I heard the 90k was not super bright and horrible reflection handling. I mean it's still a good TV, but I heard it's not as good as their previous year models of the same line
