Surprised there are no comments on this considering the previous sale. Must've fell through the cracks becauee i only found room leaves searching "Amazon" generically! Was super tempted last sale, but now I have no choice but to pull the trigger and figure out what the hell I'll use this for (other than a customizable smart home controller/dashboard).

Surprised there are no comments on this considering the previous sale. Must've fell through the cracks becauee i only found room leaves searching "Amazon" generically! I'm in the same boat. I use smartthings and this would be super handy. Im just not sure how much a pain setup would be as it isnt officially supported.

In case anyone is wondering what else you can do with this besides streaming, YouTube, and all that other stuff, basically you can use this like a giant macro pad, assigning commands/scripts/etc to little digital tiles on the LCD.

Also has OBS integrations and loads of other stuff, just download the software and poke around (you can't do anything without it but you can look at apps)

Yeah I was a SmartThings stalwart even when it was going downhill and getting worse until last year. Finally into trying to Home Assistant and haven't looked back. I'm keeping the old 3rd gen as a Thread Border router for Matter (my 2nd gen was my main SmartThings hub, but my the 3rd Gen I got for $25 went unused since they didn't support migration from 2nd gen and it was too much work).

One of my go-to smart home dudes had this video up the around the same time the MK.2 went on sale months ago, but I never pulled the trigger. This deal made it an impulse buy (combined with $60 Amex deal)! Check this out for inspiration on what to do with it (mind you he is Home Assistant focused these days):

There is in fact a smart phone app by Elgato that does the same thing. I believe it's subscription based?

There are others as well. It was a few years ago last time I checked, but you can find reviews and comparisons between them with some search.

I was surprised that the last sale went largely unnoticed. I ended up getting it at the $130 price and when I got an alert about this sale I checked but my return window for returning it to Amazon closed on 6/27 but at $130 it wasn't a bad price. I got it for connecting with Home Assistant but in the month+ that I have had it I haven't done much with it. My HA is kinda a mess and I need to clean that up first.

This was the same thing in the last deal I posted (when it was $130). I noticed it when I was checking where else it might be on sale and saw it even listed on their product page. I tried several different ways to add the items and apply the code but it never worked. I really wanted just a white/clean one and with Amazon shipping I just went with them instead of trying to get a faceplate.
