I would assume it would give off heat, just as any other fire would. The pictures look like people are using it to warm up around the fire.
I don't have experience with it though... anyone have it that can respond?
Source: I've owned a Solo Stove Bonfire and Campfire for years. A buddy has a "Ranger" (same size as this Hot Shot). Been meaning to make a heat deflector for years.
